Mary, did you Know?? The Christmas Story

One of those Christmas favorites, “Mary, Did You Know?” is a Christmas song with lyrics written by Mark Lowry and music written by Buddy Greene. It was originally recorded by Christian recording artist Michael English on his self-titled debut solo album in 1991 (English and Lowry were both members of the Gaither Vocal Band at the time). It reached No. 6 on CCM Magazine's AC Chart.[1] Lowry would record the song several times himself, most notably with the Gaither Vocal Band on their 1998 Christmas album Still the Greatest Story Ever Told.
The song has since gone on to become a modern Christmas classic, being recorded by many artists over the years across multiple genres with one of the best renditions done by an acapella group the Pentatonix. (you can watch their video below)
In the lyrics of the song, Mary is being asked if she could have imagined that her baby boy would do all the wonderful things that he ended up doing.
  “Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would one day walk on water?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy has come to make you new?
This Child that you delivered will soon deliver you…….
Did you know
that your Baby Boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?
The sleeping Child you're holding is the Great, I Am…
.”

In these tuff financial times we keep seeing and hearing of mothers who are forced to abandon their new born babies in bushes and latrines to die. What if one who was about to do just that could stop and just take a second to wonder, what great things this child she/he is about to abandon could turn out to do in future.

We can only dread the thought of what would become of this world if Mary had refused that responsibility since she was even still a virgin engaged to be married. Or if she had taken it upon herself half heartedly while complaining about here pending engagement to Joseph her future husband.
Very little is ever talked about the immense pressure and criticism this could have drawn towards herself as a woman. We shouldn’t also forget to give it up for Joseph who decided to stay and take her up as his wife even though she was already pregnant.

Mary is a great example of a virtuous woman who didn’t care for her own life, but cared for the life of the defenseless baby that was placed in her care by the almighty. Their faith and God’s promise to them kept them going.
So, what does it take to be a virtuous woman or a Virtuous man?

Here are the Lyrics

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would one day walk on water?

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would save our sons and daughters?

Did you know
that your Baby Boy has come to make you new?
This Child that you delivered will soon deliver you.

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy will give sight to a blind man?

Mary, did you know
that your baby boy will calm the storm with His hand?

Did you know
that your Baby Boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little Baby you kiss the face of God?

Mary did you know.. Mary did you know

The blind will see.
The deaf will hear.
The dead will live again.
The lame will leap.
The dumb will speak

The praises of The Lamb.

Mary did you know

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy is Lord of all creation?

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would one day rule the nations?

Did you know
that your Baby Boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?
The sleeping Child you're holding is the Great, I Am.
Mary did you know
